Ron Paul condemns the way Spitzer was caught

He certainly doesn’t condone Eliot Spitzer’s behavior, but GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul made a statement on the House floor last Friday deploring the tactics that the feds used to get the goods on the former (Democratic) NY governor. This suggests either that Ron Paul is politically tone-deaf (a possibility) or that he is consistent in his concern about the increasing snooping into the private lives of Americans undertaken by the federal government. Our editorial last Friday expressed similar concerns.

Just one of the great things about Ron Paul is that he is consistent in his beliefs and does not flip-flop about any issues. He means what he says and this is not typical of a lying, pandering, flip-flopping politician. No surprise here.

Ron Paul seems like a good man. Too bad the person we choose for president is going to be a scumbag. Bust 2008 is america’s choice.
